Hi everybody, Julie here, The Sales Ace: bringing you a sales tip to help skyrocket your business!
So I want to talk to you about something that was interesting that happened to me this week and it's around social media, and it's about really creating sales off the back of social media.
So, I wanted to have my nails done, and popped onto Spotted of Rushden and Higham Ferrers and put out a post saying, does anybody know any good nail technicians that have any spots available Friday or Saturday because I want to get it done before I go out with my friends for lunch on Sunday.
So I had a number of people post, post, post, post, post. There were a couple of people that had tagged in obviously somebody that they knew.
But very quickly, I had somebody direct message me and say to me, we’ve got an appointment free at 1 p.m. on Friday. Would you like it?
So it was great, we did a little bit of exchange on you know, where are you? What do you charge? That sort of thing.
It was booked in and it was done. Now, the reason I'm telling you this is because I have a lot of conversations with the people around social media and around how to turn leads into sales. This particular nail salon had not just put their name out there and waited for me to do something.
They'd been proactive, they got in touch, and they had started to engage in conversation with me and they've closed the sale that way. They've got me into the appointment, and this is what I teach my clients to do, this is what I do myself: if ever I'm tagged into social media about “ooh, you need to speak to Julia Futcher”, I don't go on and say “here's my number. Give me a buzz.”
I make it easy for the customer to have a conversation with me. I contact them, I direct message them. Hell, I've even picked up the telephone and called them to have a chat.
So this is how you can start to be more successful. Don't wait for somebody to contact you: be more proactive. That's my little sales tip for this week.
I hope you've enjoyed it and maybe next time I see you, I'll be able to show you a picture of my nails.
Have a good one and I'll catch up with you soon!
