Hi everybody. Julie here, The Sales Ace - bringing you another sales tip to help skyrocket your business.
This week’s sales tip has been inspired by a LinkedIn post from Sunny Singh of Northampton Chamber of Commerce, in which he was talking about networking and how to be successful within that sphere. According to Sunny, the best way to ensure this success is to make sure you get your one-to-ones booked.
Now, Sunny, you’re absolutely right with this. I wholeheartedly agree! It's through booking one-to-ones and building relationships and building trust that you actually find that your networking becomes successful.
The reason I wanted to bring this sales tip to the table this week is that I recently had a conversation with one of my clients about this issue. They were doing a lot of networking but weren't getting any success from it. So when I asked them how many ones-to-ones they were booking from each network meeting that they attended, and they admitted to booking none: that was where everything was falling short.
So make sure you book those one-to-ones and make sure they're with people and businesses that are relevant to you in your business. It may be that you share a client database, or that you are in a complementary industry sector. So for example, marketing people - I love talking to marketing people because sales and marketing for me go really well together. HR consultants do quite well for me from the training aspect. These are industry sectors that I can work alongside, rather than directly compete against.
So that's the thing. Book these one-to-ones and make sure you're booking one to two from every networking meeting that you go for, and that's how to start generating referrals from your networking.
That's my tip for this week - I'll catch up with you soon!
